The biggest hurdle to effective organisational change

Research shows that more than half of efforts related to organisational change fail. Often, it’s not the plan that is the problem, according to Sally Blount and Shana Carroll in Harvard Business Review, but resistance by people who want to maintain the status quo. Effective change managers first identify the source or sources of the resistance, then engage with those resistors, keeping in mind rules such as maintaining a focus on listening and being open to change themselves.
