Retail jobs in jeopardy


Automation may be great for consumers, but it could be bad news for workers in the retail sector, according to Daniel Gross in Strategy+Business. While there is plenty of talk about technology eliminating jobs in manufacturing and other sectors, retail may be hit harder. Recent closings by brands such as Radio Shack, JCPenney, and hhgregg are the latest in an ongoing descent of brick-and-mortar stores.
