Both AICPA and CIMA offer pathways to becoming a CGMA designation holder. These pathways share a combination of exams, experience and membership requirements. Find out more about the designation and its benefits.

AICPA pathway
To obtain the CGMA designation through the AICPA, qualified candidates must pass the CGMA exam, meet the experience requirements and be a member of AICPA.


CIMA pathway
To obtain the CGMA designation through the CIMA qualification, candidates must complete the prescribed CIMA examinations, meet the experience requirements and be a member of CIMA.
