How to assess the impact of climate change on your organisation

January 27 2012

Climate change has very real implications for organisations and the way that they operate. Many companies are focusing on ways to reduce their impact on the climate by, for example, reducing their carbon emissions. But how prepared is your business for the potential, some say inevitable, impacts of climate change, such as extreme weather events, increased risk of flooding, interrupted access to energy and water? The way in which organisations are able to adapt to the effects of climate change will impact on how they compete in this tumultuous business landscape.

This tool is designed to raise awareness of the major risks posed by climate change that could affect businesses of any size, and offers solutions for preparing for these impacts. The checklist provides a mechanism to record where further action needs to be taken and provides a basis upon which a climate change strategy can start to be formulated.
