Rebooting business: Valuing the human dimension

January 30 2012

This ground-breaking report is based upon the views of 280 CEOs from over 21 countries across the world, to understand how they viewed current global challenges and what they saw as the priorities in leading their way through them. We followed this up with in-depth interviews with 17 CEOs, chairmen and other business leaders who between them are responsible for over 2.1 million jobs and market capitalisation of $1trn.

The overwhelming response was that the human dimensions of business - for example, customer and supplier relationships, talent development as well as intellectual capital - will be the focus over the next 18-24 months.

Our research explores four core themes:

  • Understanding and unlocking value in the human dimension
  • Short-term focus versus long-term sustainable success
  • Grasping the power of transparency
  • Working in collaboration to connect the dots

I agree with Mr. Charles Tilley''s comment on many investors do not show interest in the longer term of a company. This phenomenon makes the management difficult in balancing the short-term capital market expectation and achieving the long-term objectives of a company as well as taking a good social responsibility and making justice.

The world is less green than before.

God is fair, the sun shines on everyone, rich and poor the strange weather and natural disaster also bring everyone uncomforting.

Hope the CGMAs contribute more for us and our next generation.
